You’re printing pretty small photos (2×3 inch) after all. Obviously the print quality isn’t excellent. I feel it’s worthwhile sharing because I came across a lot of forum threads where people had similar printing issues and if you’re thinking of getting one, it’s something to remember – don’t throw away any receipts or anything until you’ve tested it!īut what else can I say. It was pretty handy as you could arrange for it to be collected from wherever suited you so all in all, while I did have problems with the printer, the HP support was good and everything was dealt with very quickly. Much better! They sent a pre-paid bag for me to pop the old one in to send back so I did that.

When they sent the new one, I tested it out straight away and yup, the colours were correct. I did start to wonder then if mine was from a known faulty batch or something seeing as you have to fill in the product number and they immediately jumped to replacing it but I was going to get a new one so I was happy.
They confirmed what my problem was (printing issues), asked since when it had been happening (I said since I got it at Christmas) and followed this up by asking for my address so they could send me a replacement.

I filled in what my problem was along with my product code on the back of the printer and waited about 30 minutes to be connected with someone. In the process, I wasted about 10 sheets of expensive paper printing pink hued photos.Įventually I resorted to contacting the HP support via chat (actually, that was the only way to get in contact). I tried all the solutions that I could find online (pink hued photos seemed to be a common enough issue) but nothing worked. I thought that maybe if I edited the photo to counterbalance the pink hue I might get somewhere but that just ended up with stranger colours (number three).

I looked for some solutions online and saw that I should try checking for updates and something did update but it made no difference with the print (number two). I printed the picture and found, once again, that it had a pink hue.

It doesn’t look too bad in some pictures but then in others it’s really noticeable and made my skin look really weird and plastic looking.īelow is the same picture printed after trying different things to fix the colour problem. I also printed a few pictures of myself and again, the pink hue was present. White and green should be the main colours in that picture! Everything seemed to be printing with a pink hue which you can especially see in the chameleon picture. I do find that printing pictures of my cat can be tricky because she’s all black so I tried a few others but no, they also weren’t right. I wasn’t sure at first if it was maybe just the picture I chose to print or the printer. It’s a cute picture but as you can see, the colours don’t seem right. So those are the facts about it but how is it to use? I was really excited to start printing pictures from my phone and as I got it at Christmas, one of the first things I printed was this picture of one of my cats (sort of) wearing a Christmas hat.
I believe you can get the set for about £120 on Amazon and the paper for it is £10 for 20 sheets. My parents got me this for Christmas and they got me the rose gold set that comes with the HP Sprocket, a pouch for it and a mini album.
